After all the previously recommended activities (like baking and sports) we would like to give you some new ideas about how to spend your afternoon or night with a more chilled but exciting activity.

The theory of “board games are just for kids..” is long gone and people of all ages are enjoying the fun world of board games. We are not an exception either, so today we would like to introduce you to our favorites!

1. Scrabble - Keep your mind active by forming words!

Scrabble does not need a big introduction, since it’s a real classic. The basic idea of the game is that you have to form words from the letters that you choose blindly. Each letter has a point and there are bonus fields on the board too, where you can multiply your points. It is recommended for 2-4 people and whoever gets the most points wins.

2. Saboteur - Be careful who you trust!

This game is less known, but in my opinion unmissable. At first, you may have to think more about the right moves, but after a few rounds it will be one of your favorites!

At the beginning of the game everybody gets a role and they have to act in accordance with it. The aim of the battle for the gold miners is to find the gold at the end of the road and defeat the saboteurs. The saboteur’s work is to prevent them in all the possible ways from finding it.

It is really exciting since the role of each player is unknown to the other players, but the members of the two teams (miners and saboteurs) still have to work together.

3. Codenames - with pictures - Prepare yourself, you have to be really creative!

This game is truly about teamwork, as you have to think with your partner’s brain too. Each team has a captain whose job it is to find the meaning of the team’s card and phrase it in one word. The pictures are really unique so it won’t be easy, but this means the fun will last longer. The team who figures out all their cards quickest wins.

4. Carcassonne - The game that isn’t the same twice.

Carcassonne is a tile-placement game where you can earn points in many different ways (e.g. building a city or a road). Thanks to the tiles, the board is always changing which is why you won’t get bored of this game.

If the sound of these games don’t take your fancy, we can also recommend to you the following:

Catan, Dixit, Exploding Kittens, Century: Spice Road, Cacao and Party Alias.
